New Website (and a Report from the Weekend!)
I’ve been so excited to be working with Derek Hogue on the site design the last few weeks and everything is going great! I should be able to debut it soon, and it’s possible that you might see a pretty cupcake like the one above on the front page of the site.

Celebrating Love with Cake
Sometimes, you know, people just can’t make up their minds about what flavor they want. Which I don’t really mind, but then when I am choosing a photo for the blog I have to try and pick not just the best photo, but also which of the five things I baked I want to feature.

Mexican Chocolate Cupcakes with Cinnamon and Chili
I love these simple cupcakes. A chocolate cupcake with cinnamon and chili, which offers an unexpected spicy flavor.They are easy to make - take your favorite chocolate cupcake recipe and add one teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon chili powder for each dozen cupcakes. These happen to be vegan, and topped with powdered sugar to not overwhelm the spices.

Dulce de Leche
For a Mexican-themed party, three flavors: lime, chocolate dulce de leche, and Mexican chocolate (with cinnamon and chili). Pictured above are the dulce de leche cupcakes, which I also made in a vanilla version.

When you can't make up your mind, order everything!
Yesterday I had fun making a big batch with a bunch of different flavors for someone’s birthday. The mom who ordered them couldn’t really make up her mind what she wanted, so we ended up going with quite a few different flavors - something for everyone, I guess!
