Carrot Cake Cupcakes
Despite my mom declaring this to be her most favorite recipe ever, it’s been quite some time since I’ve made carrot cake cupcakes. I made these for a wedding tasting (today), but made extra to have with dinner.

For Steve, on his 50th
This is a vegan carrot cake with a lemon glaze and vegan buttercream detail. A simple cake for an afternoon picnic in Tilden Park, to celebrate Steve’s 50 years.

Carrots & Beaches
This weekend, oddly enough, brings two different carrot cakes (one vegan, one not), for two different birthdays. Today is a decidedly not vegan carrot cake with cream cheese frosting requested by Chris for Vanessa. Because Vanessa loves the ocean and water, we decided to go with a simple beach theme.

When you can't make up your mind, order everything!
Yesterday I had fun making a big batch with a bunch of different flavors for someone’s birthday. The mom who ordered them couldn’t really make up her mind what she wanted, so we ended up going with quite a few different flavors - something for everyone, I guess!

Carrot Cake Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting.
Carrot cake is a classic – and has been one of my signature cakes for a while now. This was my first attempt at converting the recipe to cupcakes, and it went well! These were for a brunch at a (semi-)cooperative house in Berkeley. Though, I have to say, it was super sunny and the photos just aren’t as good today.
